Who we are!

Ok, so I've had this blog ready for me to tackle for months.  I felt I was waiting for the perfect moment to launch, after each session that I've done this past couple months I would go over it wondering if it was the one for launch.  Don't get me wrong, I love each session I do and each session holds special meaning to me but nothing seemed to fit.

THEN I had this moment of A-HA! I knew exactly what I wanted to use for my launch of the blog.
I have a lot of fans and clients from all over.  Some know me on a personal level.  Some don't.  So as we were creeping up to the holiday season, I knew what it was that I wanted to kick things off with.  My family and I.

For those of you who don't know, my husband and I have five kids together.  Ranging from 21-11.  Four girls and a boy.  We are a blended family, he's got three girls, I have one daughter and our son is ours together.  We have been together for over 13 years and lead a somewhat non conventional life. Or I suppose now days its getting to be more conventional.  While I work from home - Chris works away from home so for a good portion of the year I'm "single parenting" while running a business and a house hold.  Four of the five kids live with us.  Having a blended family is tricky when it comes to holidays.  There's other parents and families we have to split the time with so sometimes we don't all always get to be together at the same time!  Well this Christmas we were.

Chris and I decided to do something a little different this year, we rented a cabin and took the kids and went a away for a few days.  It was RUSTIC! But amazing! Ok, I shouldn't emphasize rustic, because we weren't totally "roughing it".  We had heat {via wood burning stove} we had power, we had water, we had a stove, we had a fridge, we had a microwave, we had a coffee pot, toaster, etc.  We all had beds to sleep on {minus our boy Ashton,  he had a make shift bed on the floor}.  However, our "potty" was outside.  Yup, an outhouse.  In the Winter. We didn't have internet.  We didn't have video games. Most of us didn't get cell service.  Only Justine {Chris' oldest} did, as long as her cell was upside down in the window.  We were forced to just enjoy each others company.  We played lots of games & cards.  Went hiking.  We did bring the kids to civilization the one day so they could go snowboarding.  After it was all said and done, no one really complained.  Which anyone with teenage girls knows disconnecting them from their friends is like evil torture.  I don't know if they would come again with us though ;)

So here's a little peak into our lives!
